01 Patient basic information
Age: 52
Gender: Female
Present: The lower right posterior tooth of the patient had been filled with amalgam many years ago, the edge fit was poor, and chewing was uncomfortable, so the patient asked for treatment.
PH: The patient is physically healthy, denying the history of hypertension, heart disease and other systemic diseases.
02 Preoperative examination
Extraoral examination
The face shape is left and right symmetrical, the opening degree is three fingers, and the opening shape is normal.
●No obvious abnormality of temporomandibular joint.
Intraoral examination
●Good oral hygiene, soft scale I°, gum is tough, normal color
●Large amalgam fillings were seen in teeth 46 and 47, with poor edge fit, no looseness, pain on percussion (—), no response to pulp temperature test.
●Vertical and horizontal occlusal spaces are normal.
MRI Checking
●MRI were seen on the crowns of teeth 46 and 47, low-density images were seen on the edge of the filling, root filling images (underfill) were seen in the root canal, no low-density images were seen on the root tip, and alveolar bone width and good altitude condition.
